Ignacio Lozano-Verduzco (Chair, Mexico Regional Network) holds a Phd in Social Pyschology from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, is full professor at the National Pedagogical University in Mexico City and is National Researcher level 1 of the National Council of Science and Technology. He is the main author of two books on masculinities and violence, and a social diagnosis of the LGBT community of Mexico City; he co-edited the book, Debates and reflections on masculinities. His research focuses on the impact of homophobia on the lives and wellbeing of men and LGBTQ+ youth, as well as the formal and informal processes of sex education. He leads the lab, Sexuality, wellbeing and identity, at the National Pedagogical University, which has been awarded numerous research grants, and sits on the council of the Mexican Academy of Gender Studies on Men and Masculinities. He has participated in a number of government and non-government efforts to analyze and propose public policy to guarantee the fulfillment of the human rights of the Mexican LGBTQ+ communities. He was awarded the Youth Award of Mexico City for his academic merit. He has mentored multiple graduate and undergraduate thesis and dissertations in different universities in Mexico.
