re:INQYR focuses on training interdisciplinary social science researchers in LGBTQ+ youth research, aiming to contribute to their well-being globally. The event involves training the International Student Training Network (ISTN) and aims to facilitate collaboration and networking. Various activities such as student-led presentations, trainings, panels, keynotes, mentoring opportunities, and outstitutes for cultural immersion and cohort connection.
The public symposium event targets scholars, emerging researchers, professional practitioners, and students, emphasizing collaborative intersectoral approaches to improve LGBTQ+ well-being.
Dr. Juan Carlos Mendoza Pérez (Co-Chair, Mexico Regional Network) is a Professor at the Department of Public Health at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. He is a biologist with an area of concentration in Epidemiology. His training and research focuses on HIV; Education Sciences; Youth, Sexuality and Rights; and Right to Non-Discrimination and Sexual Diversity. He is currently secretary of SISEX A.C., a Mexican non-profit organization working in sexual health and well-being for LGBTQ+ people.
