When Dane Marco Di Cesare was a child, he turned to video games for more than entertainment or diversion. For him, they were a safe place for a queer youth to immerse himself in fantastic worlds, away from a reality that was sometimes unsafe and often stressful. Today, he’s leading the first large scale international study to examine how the gaming experiences of LGBTQ+ youth and young adults affect their wellbeing and identity development.
