Dr Willem J Stander (Co-Chair, UK Regional Network) is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Birmingham. He has worked across a broad spectrum of psychology, health, and social care research programmes using mixed methods, participatory, and randomised controlled trial designs. His work focuses on mental health, help-seeking behaviours, and digital interventions to help inform practice and policy with LGBTQ+ and looked-after young people. Willem has also worked as a psychology lecturer and is a member of the British Psychological Society. He has collaborated on research with leading UK and international LGBTQ+ non-profit organisations, including Stonewall and The Trevor Project.
